080 Barcelona Fashion Week FW15/16 held at the Museu Marítim de Barcelona started last Monday! Once again, this well known event is bringing together the local designers, photographers, models and other professionals from the fashion industry. The catwalks, live photo-shoots, parties and contests are just a small part of what is really happening at 080.
Of course, ModelManagement.com was present on this great event. For those who went – you were really lucky to see the beautiful collections, the great designers and the celebrities. However, those who didn’t.. read on as we would like to share with you the whole experience and the ambiance there!
On the catwalks we saw the new Fall&Winter 2015/2016 collections by Pablo Erroz, Celia Vela, TCN, Miriam Ponsa, Custo, Mango, Desigual, TORRAS, Punto Blanco and many more. Each one of them have shown a great creativity and innovation – which are the driving forces of 080 Barcelona Fashion.
The first day, the biggest impression was for Mango, with the stylish youthful collection that has a hippy touch. We saw many long boho skirts and dresses, jeans, ponchos, patterned kimonos etc. The earthy and soft colors of suede, lace and chiffon pieces were dominating. On this catwalk, we had the chance to see one of the most famous male models in the world – John Cortajarena.
On the 2nd day of 080 Barcelona Fashion, Desigual presented the new fall/winter line with the prominence of the famous Tony Ward and John Halls. It was surprising, not for their typical colorful and unique pieces, but because this time it was exclusively a male collection. Apart from the practical pieces, Desigual now aimed to modern masculine guys who are comfortable wearing accessories such as bags, scarves, hats and all that with interesting designs and colors, as usual.
A variety of graphics, prints, colors were present in the catwalks by Custo Barcelona on the 3rd day of this event. We couldn’t help but notice that each piece was beautifully complementing the female silhouettes of the models thus we figure that Custo Barcelona for this line put emphasis on maximizing the feminine beauty, which of course – we love!
The live photo shoot by Ruven Afanador that happened on the 3rd of February was a great opportunity for everyone to see the other perspective, the story behind a photo and how photographers, models, stylists, choreographers and make-up artists work together in creating beautiful visuals.
Ruven Afanador is a very well known photographer who has worked with many celebrities. The main subject of this photo shoot was the famous actress Rossy de Palma.
At 080 we also had the chance to see a vfew exhibitions and one of them was by Celia Vela. The picture that you can see below is a result of art and fashion mixed together and the collaboration between Celia Vela and the painter Begoña Ramos. The beautiful combination of paint and materials such as silk, tulle and lace, left us breathless.
And last but not least, we have to mention the fashion market which was in the open area where all the visitors had the chance to look at and buy clothing and accessories designed by local designers as well as students from many schools in Barcelona such as: IED, ESDi, Escola d’Art i Disseny ILLA, ICM and many more.
Yesterday was the last day of this amazing fashion event, and it was the most exciting one for us, as one of the emerging designers from MODA FAD, Joan Ros, the same one that collaborated with ModelManagement.com during the Fresh Faces 2014, won the National Award of the Government of Catalonia with his new brand ISOMETRIC next to the emerging designer Jessica Montes! Congrats!!
