Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana just pulled off what must rank as fashion’s biggest audience-participation feat ever. Their catwalk was alive with diversity, sizes, shapes, ages and races. There were moms, dads, babies, grandmothers, as well as brothers and sisters. Everyone you’ve ever met, sashaying down the Dolce & Gabbana catwalk. The show included actors, millennials, Hollywood aristocracy, and socialites. Over 140 people took part – each of them dressed to the nines in clothes they had picked out and accessorized themselves over days and nights of fittings. Naturally, the show kicked the social media part of the campaign into overdrive and resulted in one of the most emotional Dolce & Gabbana shows ever.
