Whether you’re trying to get into modeling or you already are a model, having a positive and healthy outlook is a key ingredient to model success. As well as the great attitude, your body and skin are also a factor. From fitness and real-life models to plus size and high fashion models, looking after yourself makes you feel great and when you’re glowing with confidence and positivity that’s when casting managers notice you more. Your face is the first thing people see when they meet you, yes that’s pointing out the obvious and also not true if they see you from the back but you get where we’re going with this, that’s why today we want to give you some handy ways to keep your face bright and beautiful!
Drink water, water, and more water!
You know this right? Good, so we don’t need to waste too much time telling you all the details of why this is so important but perhaps for those of you who dislike water, knowing that it makes up 64% of your skin and that your favorite sugary drinks can be a trigger for flare-ups of some skin conditions will convince you to drink a little more. Water keeps your skin hydrated, bright and beautiful.
2. Try not to touch your face.
That sounds a little weird, however when you’re walking around touching handles, doors, and rails that a million other people are touching then constantly touching your face it can be a trigger for spots. Touching your face can spread bacteria even just from pore to pore, especially if you already have a little breakout. Follow Kendal Jenner who tries not to touch her face so much thanks to the advice of her big sisters, it seems to be working for her!
3. Take a break from products.
Former Victoria’s Secret model Erin Heatherton swears by taking a couple of days off of products. Simply rinse your face with warm water and pat dry, let your skin breathe and don’t be tempted to put on even a simple tinted moisturizer.
4. Never sleep with your makeup on.
The list of professional models who would tell you this is long, from Devon Windsor to Adriana Lima, and they’re not wrong. Leaving your makeup plus the dirt of the day on your skin is a recipe for breakouts. It takes just a few minutes to remove, cleanse and moisturize before bed so start from today.
5. Invest in a moisturizer with SPF.
The sun on your skin feels great but before you know it you’ve burnt the end of your nose. Take yourself down to the shops and check out the moisturizers with SPF to help protect your skin from sun damage and keep you looking younger for longer.
