Sometimes it’s hard to be positive all the time, especially about ourselves! We’re only human after all and with the continued rise of social media and the seemingly perfect people their perfect lives and even perfect pets, it can make those down moments even worse. BUT you, me, us, we all should be our own biggest fans! There has been a huge increase in the number of body-positive accounts and posts on Instagram recently, with many people embracing the posed VS relaxed image trend as well as the #nofilter trend, and we for one are celebrating that. Model diversity is a huge deal at ModelManagement.com. We’re always working to promote and encourage models of all ages, sizes, ethnicities and backgrounds to embrace themselves and pursue the career of their dreams, so naturally, we are on board for encouraging non-modelling humans too! Love yourself guys and for those moments of doubt, check out our favourite body positive Instagram accounts…
Iskra Lawrence is one of the top models of the moment! Represented by JAG Models NY and Models1 UK, the fashion industry is in love with this English model. Iskra really promotes self-love and real bodies (#everyBODYisbeautiful), we simply love scrolling her Instagram page.
Gabi Fresh is an American blogger with amazing style. After graduating college she decided to take her passion for fashion and turn it into a job, starting her blog in September 2008. Recently this ultra-body positive lady has released a swim collection designed with everyone in mind, not just a one size/look fits all.
At the forefront of body positivity for men is Kelvin Davis, blogger at Notoriously Dapper. This model, writer, and activist is leading the way for stylish men, teaching them to embrace themselves and explore their own style without worry.
Katie is the founder of Natural Model Management, an L.A. based model agency that promotes healthy weight, natural models. In 2011, she also began Healthy Is The New Skinny, a blog that works to promote positive body image and lifestyles for women.
Philomena is an international model, who also happens to have a 1st class degree in Economics as well as a Masters degree in International Health Management. Smart, beautiful and very into positivity, her account is a must follow.
Super stylish travel blogger Mama Cax is on a mission to “infiltrate the beauty industry” she’s showing the world that beauty isn’t defined by the industry. We LOVE her.
Zach Miko was the first guy signed to the Brawn division at IMG. He’s working to improve the way men are represented in the model industry and hopes to help the male fashion industry catch up with the changes that have occurred within the women’s fashion industry.
We couldn’t have this list without Ashley Graham. She was the first ever “plus-sized” model on the cover of Sports Illustrated and had a Barbie modeled on her! That’s not even the tip of the iceberg on the list of things she’s acheived. This top model is teaching everyone to love their bodies and not feel the need to conform to one look.
