ModelManagement: How and when did your career in modeling start?
Mimy Pauloin: My career really began in April 2014 … Of course I have always been shaped by the world of fashion and fashion design… Having immersed in this field since my childhood with my cousin who is a stylist, but it was not until 2014 that I became a professional, thanks to several modeling agencies who have contacted me. Being in several modeling agencies gives credibility and seriousness to my profile. And many fashion designers have trusted me afterwards to represent their brands and that’s where the adventure began …
MM: What else are you passionate about, besides modeling?
MP: I have several passions besides modeling. I am passionate about photography. I love visiting the exhibitions of famous photographers who are references in the world of fashion photography like Helmut Newton and Richard Avedon… I also like dancing. I spend most of my free time to dance. I like many dance styles, but I practice bellydance as regards to my Arab origins. I also like to read newspapers as well as magazines, and I always have a book in my bag, it keeps me busy on the train, on the plane … It’s my best friend in times of loneliness. And like all the girls I love shopping…
MM: You’ve been known as the queen of ModelStyle on ModelManagement.com, with your amazing trendy outfits, have you ever considered about a career as a fashion stylist maybe?
MP: It touches me to be considered as “The queen of modelstyle” on ModelManagement.com. I think that working with stylists pushes all models to be interested in fashion and to care about their style. Personally, I would like to evolve, and later, I plan to become an image consultant.
MM: Which is your favorite ModelStyle that you’ve done so far?
MP: (See image below)
MM: What is the best experience you’ve had throughout your career?
MP: Each experience taught me a lot. I learn and evolve through each project. But my best experience was a photo shoot for a French designer “Florence Parriel” for her summer collection (2015). It was a shooting that took a lot of energy. I had to jump, dance, be on the move…That really impressed me!
MM: How would you describe your style?
Orson Wells said: “ Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn.”
So my style reflects who I am. I try to be at once modern, simple and classy. I follow new trends while remaining elegant. I choose the colors that match most with my skin tone and the cuts that match more with my morphology…
Coco Chanel said, “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance” I try to follow her advice…
MP: It is very important for a model to have an international visibility, that is why it is important to have a profile on modelmanagement.com. Thanks to this platform we can find many castings and modeling agencies almost all over the world. MM: Complete the sentence: Fashion is…
MM: Do you have any fashion advices & tips for all the models who would want to be as stylish, and be chosen as a ModelStyle of the day?
MP: Never copy the style of someone else. It should not be just get dressed fashionable to be fashionable. We must first know its morphology and the forms that match more with its morphology… We must know the colors that go best with its skin tone. Never mix many colors and styles to attract attention. Coco Chanel said: “Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman” Be simple, modern and classy. And if you have no idea you can dress in black and white. It is the perfect harmony.
Now it’s your turn to post your style! Who knows… maybe you will be the next ModelStyle queen?
