MCM got androgynous Andrej Pejic for their spring 2014 campaign!

by

In 2011 the face of our favorite transgender model Andrej Pejic was on a lot of magazine covers and on the Jean Paul Gaultier Couture runway – then he disappeared a bit from the picture. But now he’s back! He was on the DKNY catwalk on Sunday and WWD unveiled the spring 2014 campaign of German luxury accessories brand MCM with Andrej as face.

The collection is named “Flower Boys in Paradise” and aims to a genderless aesthetic. Of course Andrej is the perfect model for that. To break through gender boundaries is also one of the long term goals of the company. MCM owner Sung-Joo Kim said to WWD: “The concept of genderless is key not only for this season’s campaign but also in terms of where we want to take the brand in the future as we move away from traditional targets and evolve into a brand representing a true new school of luxury suggesting a new alternative in future lifestyles.”

This collection is a huge step in the direction of diversity and away from gender stereotypes. At ModelManagement.com we love the collection and especially the campaign with gorgeous Andrej Pejic.
