Cinematic Art Project - Across Europe

The coming summer months, I will focus on my new project merging my photographic practice with my own variations on shibari (tying with ropes). My approach echoes the principles of wabi-sabi, both in the tyin and how I approach photographing it. Instead of the common emphasis on symmetry, perfection, technique, I search for other things such as the transient and imperfection as they present themselves. For those that are aware of the Japanese term “wabi-sabi” my intentions and practices reflect well on its principles. Emphasis on place is also of note, as I echo both the energy of those I shoot with, my own and interpret those into the places and spaces we might be visiting. I will be shooting both indoors and I am particularly focused in outdoor locations in nature. Prior to any shooting, I will be discussions with those who consider taking part. It is essential to find connecting dots before we engage into any actual planning. This is more than a mere photoshop, it is about connection to self, other and place. It is essentially a holistic practice and proper preparations, dialogue are relevant here. I will therefore invite people interested to an initial call where I will unpack in more details and the intentions of the project. It is also a chance to answer questions afterwards. I will be shooting both in Greece where I would host in a variety of locations depending on the time of the summer we might consider and in central Europe. I will be traveling in Europe this summer for a full month. North Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, east side of France are amongst the place I will visit.
