Reflections

The purpose of this shoot is to find each models body story and how it affects their life. They don't define us, but our bodies are certainly aspects of our stories. If we stood in front a mirror and looked at your physical makeup we would both see the same things but you would also add an entire narrative. A history, a present, a future. Words and comments, positive and negative, a story in effect. So I'm asking each model who wants to be involved to complete a short task. Pop yourself in front of a mirror and write a few lines down that you feel tells your story. No pictures or anything like that, just a few lines that detail your thoughts and feelings about where you're drawn when you look at yourself and why. What does this aspect, positive or negative say about you? Shape, form, marks, scars, anything that adds to your story. What do you see? What does the outside world see? What has been said or done to affect that feeling? Please try to be as honest and as in-depth as you can be. Then, we'll pick some people to go forwards from there, we would bring you in for a shoot, via a Pinterest mood board and a couple of conversations, and set up a "scene" that tells your story. Between us, we would then choose the the image that we feel best tells that story. We would then create a poem or a piece of prose that tells that story, either for performance by yourself, or for audio recording to go with an exhibition.
