Model and Gallery Associate

This is an hourly, part time, paid position working 6-12 hours per week in Oakland, Maryland (western Md). The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for planning, designing, staging and preparing a shoot list for at least one photo shoot session per month while working as a Gallery Associate, on site, in the Gallery 1-2 days each week. Shoot planning will be collaborative with the principal photographer. The model will also be responsible for performing a variety of gallery functions throughout the normal work days (typically Fridays and Saturdays, noon until 6 pm). Duties will include but are not limited to: Performing telephone and guest reception duties, assisting customers with print and product purchases and general retail sales functions as necessary; providing photo shoot service pricing and information to gallery visitors; assisting with various gallery events and event preparation; and various, routine gallery duties. Desired Qualifications and Education Previous professional modeling experience, previous experience planning sets, shoot lists and lighting, a degree or training in fine arts or equivalent and experience in curation, photography, retail operations, and community outreach and customer service. Punctuality and work schedule adherence are a must. Preferred Skills TIPS training, experience using Canon cameras, Light Room, Photoshop and other photo editing software, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, previous retail sales experience, and previous experience working with the public are all desirable skills.
