From the first lessons with his father and being given books from Andres Feininger, Jeremy DuBrul's love for photography started at a young age. Delving further into the teaching/ writing of the masters; Ansel Adams, The Famous Photographers Course (written in the 1950's by photographers like Irving Penn, Richard Avendon and Philippe Halsman), Jeremy sought instruction and apprenticeship with some of Chicago's top commercial studios.
In 2008, to further push his education, Jeremy sought the mentoring of Britain's Bruce Smith, assisting and coordinating some of the Fashion Photography Workshops that Bruce is well known for, exposing European influences to his work.
"The work you see comes from a coordinated team effort. My work is nothing without the encouragement and the influence from models: Jennifer Burgess, Jax Turyna, Betty Jean, Anna Hagopian; makeup artists: Laura Hansen, Sharai Facen; stylist Laura Darner. It's this team environment that I strive to develop and helps to bring the best to the work you see. As well as my mentors: John Reilly and Bruce Smith."
Jeremy DuBrul operates a studio in the West Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago.
