Art project /cinematic photography

Hello, Ι am an artist working with photography. This casting call is exclusively aimed at combining shibari (ropes) practice and photography. (for non shibari please refer to my other casting call) My shibari is inspired by the Japanese principle of wabi-sabi, awareness, transience, being in the present moment, and it is open to imperfections. It is also equally inspired by Japanese photography, especially of the era of the 60’s and 70’s. My approach aims at inner depth, awareness and personalized authentic expression. There are several moving parts in my practice, which I go into detail during calls. As a simple outline however, I can say there is a before, during and after parts. The first step is recognizing that we have the appropriate synergy to move forward. During the shooting we begin slowly, we take time, we prep, we discuss, we contemplate about the location and the possibilities we see in front of us. It can be seen as a sort of meditative way to approach image making. Of course, at the forefront is the immersive seamless combining of cinematic* photography and shibari in variety of location settings, that aim to translate into images carrying textures, depth and are layred. The final part comes a bit later, past the point of our shared shooting time, where I will sequence and bring together the images, to create a lyrical container of the visuals (a digital book format). This along with single images, will be shared with you. This is an immersive experience that goes beyond conventional posed modeling. It is a unique proposition and does require well thought consideration. I suggest a call after this stage and invite you to more details and unpacking of my practice.
