Jorge Dengo’s start in photography dates back to the end of 2009 when he started to take pictures in dance events of his wife Carolina, a beautiful professional dancer. In a short time, he discovers his passion for this art-form, and begins to learn on his own. (Self-taught)
Even though he is a successful attorney, his true passion is photography, field in which he works more intensively every day. On the beginning of 2010, his work devoted to performance and scenic arts started being noticed, not only in his native Costa Rica, where he shoots several performances and festivals, but in the US as well, where his work has been used in advertising materials of well-known dancers and dance companies such as Bellydance Superstars. In this country, his work has been published in Fuse magazine. Additionally, in the field of artistic photography he has received recognition from Strobox ( )- site devoted to photographers - where his work will be published in a Book that groups the best photographs of the site for 2011. His work has also received recognition from Photoshop User Magazine and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, of whom he is an active member.
In 2011, he continues with his work on event and artistic photography but starts to get interested in fashion photography. Before following this new interest, he decides to study, obtaining a degree in this field, from Fotodesign, a Colombian-Argentinean, school of photography widely recognized in both countries.
During 2012 he has worked with several models and brands that have praised him for both his unique style in photography and post-production.
Jorge is a certified instructor in Photoshop. Currently he is teaching at Fotodesign the retouching course for photographers. He is also partner of the recognized photographer, Oscar Herrera in the company Flash & Click, a company dedicated to teach professional photographers and students, advanced techniques in retouching, fashion, product and event photography, production and art direction among others.
His works offers an extremely revealing vision of the arts, fashion, editorial and documentary photography. It is worth mention his deep analysis of women and men role in society as shown clearly by his work, and the metaphoric personification of the performance artist led by the complexity of his body expression.
