Chanchal began his career as a news photographer and espoused many social issues through his art. His stint under State Resource Centre for Adult Education, West Bengal supported his passion for social causes, especially in the rural areas.
He is one of the few photographers in India, who has also been a radio-documentary maker with All India Radio. His acumen for research, editing and scripting found an outlet in his tenure in the short documentary film department of DoorDarshan Kendra, Kolkata.
Chanchal’s project photography with UNICEF earned him critical acclaim nationally. His photographic contribution to OUTLOOK Traveller has been no less where his panache for lifestyle photography found expression. At TIMES OF INDIA, Chanchal has worked with Calcutta Times.
He has worked for the Times Trendz fashion & lifestyle magazine, in addition to numerous magazine & fashion shoots, including The Ebela.in, Ei-samay and of course, the bible of the Bengal fashion world – Fashion and lifestyle page The Telegraph – t2.
Being an industry veteran, he has photographed a lot of celebrities and has shot for a lot of magazines. His photos have a unique sense of creativity as he believes in exhibiting his ideas through a gripping style of imagery. He has photographed most top actors from the film fraternity and his picture speak for his creative skills.
