Ria Persad was born on June 18, 1974, in Trinidad & Tobago and is of Northern Indian descent (US Citizenship). She was educated at Harvard, Princeton, and Cambridge Universities in Mathematics and Physics and has been passionate about the arts and music since the age of 5. As a true Renaissance woman, her remarkable career story as both scientist and concert performer has been featured in Oprah and CNN Living. Ria is a model, singer, pianist, composer, dancer, and choreographer--a versatile and talented performing artist. She has coached performing artists—vocalists, dancers, and models—through the IMTA (International Modeling and Talent Association). Ria studied Musical Theater and was the lead opera singer in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas at Princeton University, was the lead pianist at Princeton University, and has served as choreographer and composer. Ria works for the NASA Space Program and has given concert piano performances from Rome to Carnegie Hall. She has been nationally recognized for her scientific achievement by the United States Senate and for her performance achievement as winner of the 2010 Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition. Ria is a serial entrepreneur as the founder of StatWeather, a weather technology corporation, and the Freedom Scholars of America Scholarship Fund. Ria is signed as a model with Wings Models and Talent in Cincinnati, Ohio.
